Customer Reviews

So far, so good (though I’ve only really tried it once, attempting to add power back into my e-bike at a rest/stop)

Peter Stern
Seems like a nice little unit

Bought two of these... one to act as a UPS for my internet modem and router. For that purpose, this thing has enough capacity to power these devices for at least 8 hours (they consume only about 35W)

The other one I use as a UPS for my main computer as well as a portable device to take camping to be used with a solar panel.

As a UPS for my main computer (which draws as much as 277 watts), this has enough capacity to give about an hour of run time even if my desktop CPU and graphics are running at 100% (which I deliberately did to confirm the battery capacity).

Of course when I don't deliberate run my desktop to the max, the run time should be more like 2+ hours.

And I tested the UPS feature by having stuff plugged into the EB3a and then unplugging the AC input power. With some other devices of this type, you'll have a brief drop in power which would cause a modem, router or computer to reboot. But that's not the case here. My computer as well as my internet devices stayed on uninterrupted. So the UPS mode 100% works as advertised.

Other things like like... it has a convenient carrying handle and the display shows how much power is going in and how much is going out.

And because of that display, you can use this to see how much power various things in your house use (up to 600W... so don't plug in a hair dryer or space heater) or if you have 'vampire drain' with household items... in that some things don't fully turn off when you turn them off. I discovered that my desktop PC and monitor still draw around 20 watts of power even when they are supposedly 'off'.

Now I physically turn off the power source to eliminate this vampire power drain.

Also on a review I read elsewhere, they indicated these to be silent. They aren't completely silent. When in use, a fan comes on from time to time... likely to keep the battery and electronics cool. It's not any more noisy than a modern refrigerator. So not loud, but you can hear it if there is no other noise.

And finally... I left one out in some light rain... like what might happen if I was camping. No issues. The device kept working as it should.

It's a nice little unit for a great price compared to other options I looked at.

Happy with Purchase

Haven't had the opportunity to use it much yet, but did test charging hearing aids overnight and it worked perfectly. We can now boondock with our motorhome and keep the hearing aids charged along with other accessories.
